Salted Caramel


1 cup sugar

6 tbsp room temperature salted butter, cut into small pieces

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 tsp salt (optional)


1. Heat sugar in a small pot over medium low heat, stirring constantly until it’s completely an amber liquid. Stir in the butter until melted. Slowly pour in the cream then let simmer on low for 1 minute, while stirring. Stir in 1/2 tsp salt if desired. Cool and enjoy.
